2077/11/19 गते बुधबार नेपाली राजदूतावास ओमानले वैज्ञानिक फोहोर व्यवस्थापन सम्बन्धी एक अन्तरक्रियात्मक वेभिनार आयोजना गर्यो। उक्त कार्यक्रममा नेपालका ६ वटै महानगरपालिका तथा ओमानमा सन् २००९ देखि फोहोर व्यवस्थापनको काम गर्दै आएको ओमानको सरकारी कम्पनी अल वियाको सहभागिता रहेको थियो।ओमानका लागि नेपालको राजदूत महामहिम श्री सर्मिला पराजुली ढकालज्यूको उद्घाटन मन्तव्यसँगै सुरू भएको उक्त कार्यक्रमको सञ्चालन दूतावासका द्बितीय सचिव श्री सोमेश थापाज्युले गर्नुभएको थियो।सो कार्यक्रमको सुरूवातमा कार्यक्रमका अतिथि ललितपूर महानगरपालिकाका मेयर श्री चिरीबाबु महर्जनज्यूले दूतावासको पहललाई धन्यवाद प्रकट गर्दै सबै देश र शहरको अत्यावश्यकीय पाटो फोहोर व्यवस्थापनमा यस वेभिनारबाट सहभागीहरूको क्षमता वृद्धि हुने विश्वास लिएको जानकारी गराउनु भयो। कार्यक्रमका अर्का अतिथि वीरगञ्ज महानगरपालिकाका मेयर श्री विजय कुमार सरवागीज्यूले छोटो भनाइ राख्दै फोहोर व्यवस्थापनको क्षेत्रमा पहिलो पटक यस्तो संयुक्त कार्यक्रमको आयोजना भएकोले दूतावासलाई विशेष धन्यवाद प्रकट गर्नुभयो।त्यसैगरी ओमानको सरकारी कम्पनी अल वियाका कार्यकारी उपाध्यक्ष श्री मोहम्मद सुलेमान अल हार्थीज्यूले कार्यक्रमको सान्दर्भिकताका बारेका आफ्ना भनाइहरू राख्दै यस्ता कार्यक्रमहरू तथा अन्य कुनै पनि किसिमका सहयोगको लागि आफू सँधै तत्पर रहेको बताउनु भयो।मुख्य गरी फोहोर व्यवस्थापन सम्बन्धी अनुभव तथा कार्ययोजनाहरू आदानप्रदान गर्ने उद्देश्य रहेको सो कार्यक्रममा ओमानको तर्फबाट ई. श्री खामिस अल सियाबीज्यूले ओमानले वैज्ञानिक फोहोर व्यवस्थापन सम्बन्धमा अवलम्बन गर्दै आएको अभ्यास तथा अनुभवहरू प्रस्तुत गर्नुभएको थियो भने नेपालका तर्फबाट क्रमशः काठमाडौं महानगरपालिकाका वातावरण विभाग प्रमुख श्री हरि कुमार श्रेष्ठज्यू, ललितपूर महानगरपालिकाका वातावरण विभागका ईन्जिनियर श्री प्रदिप कुमार अमात्यज्यू, विराटनगर महानगरपालिकाका ईन्जिनियर श्री घनश्याम काफ्लेज्यू, वीरगंज महानगरपालिकाका वातावरण विभागका ईन्जिनियर श्री राजीव सिंहज्यू, भरतपूर महानगरपालिकाका ईन्जिनियर श्री बिराट घिमिरेज्यू तथा पोखरा महानगरपालिकाका श्री सबिना गौतमज्यूले फोहोर व्यवस्थापनका क्षेत्रमा तत् तत् महानगरपालिकाहरूको विद्यमान अभ्यास तथा भविष्यको रणनीति सम्बन्धमा प्रस्तुति दिनुभएको
थियो।सम्पूर्ण प्रस्तुतिहरू पश्चात् सहभागीहरुको तर्फबाट जिज्ञासा एवम् रचनात्मक सुझावहरूमा समेत छलफल भएको थियो।
महामहिम राजदूत श्री सर्मिला पराजुली ढकालज्यूले कार्यक्रमलाई सफल बनाउन सक्रिय भूमिका खेल्नुभएकोमा सहभागी सबैलाई धन्यवाद प्रकट गर्दै यस किसिमको अन्तरक्रियात्मक कार्यक्रमले चूनौतीको रूपमा रहेको फोहोरमैला व्यवस्थापन सम्बन्धी समस्यालाई एक-अर्काको उत्तम अनुभव आदाप्रदान मार्फत् वैज्ञानिक ढङ्गले समाधान गर्न सहज हुने बताउनु भयो।
उक्त कार्यक्रममा अल विया कम्पनीका तर्फबाट क्षेत्रीय सञ्चालन प्रबन्धक श्री अहमद मुबारक अल अरेमी, रणनीतिक प्रबन्धक श्री फात्मा अल मुजैनी तथा नेपालका छ वटा महानगरपालिकाका मेयर, वरिष्ठ पदाधिकारीज्यूहरू तथा नेपाली दूतावासका कर्मचारीहरूको समेत सक्रिय सहभागिता रहेको थियो।

On 03 march 2021 the Embassy of Nepal organized a Webinar between six Metropolitan Cities of Nepal and al Beah company of Oman entitled “Scientific Waste Management: Practices in Nepal and Oman” via Zoom Platform. Welcoming the guests and participants H.E. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal, appreciated successful efforts of Oman in the waste management sector meanwhile highlighting the importance of the program. Speaking at the Opening session of the webinar Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Mr. Chiribabu Maharjan reflected about the role of such programs in contributing to the knowledge enhancement and capacity development of participants and thanked the embassy of Nepal for hosting the webinar. Also, speaking at the program Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, Mr. Bijaya Kumar Sarawagi shed upon the necessity of waste management and acknowledged about the webinar program that it was the first collaborative effort to waste management.
Speaking at the opening session, Vice President, Strategic Development Sector, of Al Beah, Sheikh Mohammed Sulaiman Al Harthy stated that waste management is a combined effort of government and community. He further stated that for effective management efforts should be made from minimizing wastes at the sources to proper handling until settling at the deposition sites.
From Omani side Er. Mr. Khamis Al Siyabi, Department Head – Municipal Solid Waste Operations highlighted the overall aspects of waste management in Oman. Similarly, From Nepali side Mr. Hari Kumar Shrestha, Chief, Environment Management Department, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Er. Pradip Kumar Amatya, Environment Division, Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Er. Ghanashyam Kafley, Environment section, Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Er. Rajeeb Singh, Environment Division, Birgunj Metropolitan City, Er. Birat Ghimire, Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Ms. Sabina Gautam, Section Officer, Pokhara Metropolitan City presented the practices of their municipalities on the sector of waste management. Presentations were followed by constructive interactions.
H.E. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal, concluded the webinar with overall feedback accumulated from the presentations. Delivering her remarks, H.E. Ambassador thanked the participants for their enthusiastic participation and encouraged all the municipalities stating that it’s never too late to learn best waste management practices and those who already have started can march towards zero waste.
In the program conducted by Mr. Somesh Thapa, Second Secretary at the Embassy, Ms. Fatma Al Mujaini, MSW Strategies Manager, Planning Department, Mr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Araimi, Regional Operations Manager, of Beah company, Mr. Mishal al Riyami from Beah, Senior Officers from various Municipalities, Engineers/Head of Environment and Waste Management Department various municipalities, Other officials from Nepal and Oman and staffs at the Embassy of Nepal in Oman had actively participated.
