The Embassy of Nepal, Muscat organized a free Health Camp for Nepalese community in Oman on 26 October 2018 in association with Abeer Hospital, Ruwi, Muscat. Around 100 Nepalese benefited through free health camp. The free health camp included breast cancer screening, consultation with gynecologist, surgeon & dentist, ultrasound, ECG, blood sugar test, BMI measurement facilities etc.
The program commenced with lighting of traditional oil lamp by H.E. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman followed by the national anthem of Oman and Nepal. H.E. Ambassador uttered that health is the most important treasure of the life and everybody must take care of their health for which regular check-ups are essential. H.E. Dhakal also elucidated that healthy citizens are the true assets of the country and suggested all Nepalese to have a healthy life style through balanced diet, regular exercise and get regular health check-ups. H.E. Ambassador thanked Abeer Hospital, all the participants and other partners Salam Air, Avon for being the part of the noble event and expressed her desire for the long-term cooperation with all. H.E. Ambassador also thanked the Government of the Sultanate of Oman for all the cooperation extended to the embassy.
Dr. Amaravani, specialist, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon delivered the welcome speech. Mr. Jamsheer Hamza, Director of Abeer Medical Group, Oman detailed about the hospital’s programs, services and Dr. Sukumaran Vengail, Senior Consultant, General & Laparoscopic Surgery expressed vote of thanks at the end of the program. Abeer Hospital distributed med cards to the participants for the future use.
Two Nepali dances were performed in the program by the members of Nepalese Diaspora. Avon Beauty Product company distributed free gift hampers to the participants. Salam Air gifted one-way tickets to two participants through lucky draw. H.E. Dhakal distributed the gift tickets to the winners.
The program included lunch for all the participants.
