Her Excellency Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador, Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Nepal to Sultanate of Oman held a meeting with H.E. Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al-Dheeb, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on 25th December 2017 at latter’s office.
H.E. Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al-Dheeb welcomed H.E. Sarmila parajuli Dhakal and expressed happiness over the excellent state of bilateral relations between the two countries.
H.E. Ambassador briefed the Undersecretary on the latest political developments giving high importance on how Nepal after completing a long political transition, is moving forward on the path of economic growth with the focus on economic transformation, economic prosperity through industrialization. Nepal located between the two vibrant and fastest growing economies India & China, is an attractive platform for investors, manufacturers.
H.E. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal highlighted that Nepal is moving forward on the path of reform on policies relating to economy, foreign investment, public-private partnership, special economic zones, industrial enterprises, labor, mining, banking, intellectual property, FDI provisions and repatriation of capital, industry and commerce to encourage foreign capital and technological investment.
H.E. Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al-Dheeb Congratulated H.E. the Ambassador for Nepal’s constitution 2015 and expressed his desire to co-operate on the various sectors of Commerce & Industries. Both held the discussions on export- oriented industries in Nepal. H.E. Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al-Dheeb, encouraged Nepali businesspersons to bring Nepali products in Oman and expressed his readiness to co-operate to organize an Oman-Nepal business Conference’ so that Omani buyers can easily get connected with Nepali businessmen & exporters.
Both discussed the possibilities to invest in Nepal’s agriculture, infrastructures, hydropower, & manufacturing sector. H.E.Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal highlighted duty-free market access for Nepali products in EU market. & duty-free market access in American market for almost 66 products.
H.E Ambassador also emphasized that Nepal can be a great platform for export- oriented performances.
H.E. Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al-Dheeb, Thanked H.E. Ambassador for the meeting and assured H.E. Ambassador that Ministry of Industry & commerce will provide all kind of co-operation.
