Her Excellency Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador, Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman held a meeting with H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad-Al-Rumhi, Minister of Oil & Gas of the Sultanate of the Oman on 7 January 2018 at latter’s office.
H.E. Al-Rumhi welcomed H.E. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal and expressed happiness over the excellent state of bilateral relations between the two countries. H.E. Dhakal thanked for the meeting and briefed about Nepal’s current socio-economic and political situation.
Both held the discussions on various means of cooperation on oil & gas, fertilizer and investment on energy sectors in near future. H.E. Al-Rumhi expressed his desire to co-operate on the various sectors of oil, gas and hydropower sector. H.E Ambassador also emphasized that Nepal can be a great market for Oman’s oil and gas.
H.E. Dhakal extended an invitation to H.E. Al-Rumhi to pay an official visit to Nepal for further cooperation between the two nations. H.E. Al-Rumhi welcomed the invitation and expressed his willingness to visit Nepal as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Oil and Gas (MOG) is the governmental body in the Sultanate of Oman responsible for developing, regulating and implementing the government policy to sustain and develop the oil and gas sector in Oman; establish "Petroleum Agreements" with oil and gas companies and analyze the world market for oil and gas to guide marketing efforts of Oman's crude oil.
