Her Excellency Ambassador Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal had a meeting with H.E. Dr. Hamed Said Al-Oufi, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of the sultanate of Oman on 8 July 2019 at latter’s office. The meeting was held in an utmost cordial and friendly environment.
During the meeting both discussed the ways and means to enhance bilateral relations between both the countries. H.E. Ambassador Dhakal thanked H.E. Dr. Hamed for the meeting and highlighted various plans and priorities of the Government of Nepal for the development of agricultural sectors. H.E. Ambassador informed that organic agriculture sector is gaining momentum in the subsistence farming system of Nepal and Nepal is home to many potential products like spices and medicinal plants, fresh fruits and vegetables. H.E. Ambassador apprised that significant area of agricultural land in Nepal is also organic by default. H.E. Dhakal also enquired about the possible investments from the Sultanate of Oman in the field of agriculture sector of Nepal.
Expressing the satisfaction over excellent political ties between Nepal and the Sultanate H.E. Al-Oufi told that both the countries now need to have technical cooperation and trade of agricultural products. H.E. Al-Oufi also assured for all possible cooperation from Omani Government in coming future.
