Foreign Secretary Mr. Shanker Das Bairagi had a meeting with H. E. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas of the Sultanate of Oman this morning.  In the meeting, they held discussions on promoting bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of energy sector development and other industries of Nepal.

Mr. Bairagi highlighted the opportunities available for foreign investors in Nepal, stating that Nepal has created a comprehensive and sound legal framework for attracting foreign investment. Recalling establishment of the Embassy of Nepal in Oman in 2013, he hoped that the Sultanate of Oman would also consider positively to establish residential diplomatic mission in Nepal, reflecting the spirit of evolving relationship between the two countries.

Receiving Mr. Bairagi in his office, H. E. Mohammed Hamed Al-Rumhi said that Oman is positive on developing specific plans to invest in Nepal, including through joint ventures in collaboration with national and private investment agencies of other countries.

Mr. Bairagi was accompanied by H. E. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman, in the meeting.

Mr. Bairgai arrived yesterday evening at Muscat for addressing the interaction program of the Ambassadors of Nepal in MENA region, along with having bilateral meetings with the high-level officials of Oman.
